1. Introduction to the Research Team

The team was established in 2024. The team is based at the School of Biological and Food Engineering, Southwest Forestry University, and relies on the university's master's programs in biology and botany, as well as the Forest Products Analysis and Testing Center and the Bioengineering Experimental and Training Center. Leveraging Yunnan's rich resources of medicinal plants, the team focuses on addressing key technological issues in medicinal plant resource chemistry and ecological pest and disease control using modern scientific and technological methods. It aims to provide technical support for the sustainable development of medicinal plants in Yunnan and to promote adjustments in the medicinal plant industry structure and regional economic development. The team consists of five members, including one professor, one associate professor, and three lecturers. It has undertaken over 20 research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Yunnan Provincial research programs, with a focus on the cultivation, green pest control, and development and utilization of medicinal plant resources. In the past five years, the team has published over 30 papers in domestic and international academic journals, of which more than 20 are indexed by SCI.

2. Specific Research Directions

• (1)  Cultivation and utilization of medicinal plant resources;

• (2)  Ecological prevention and control of medicinal plant pests and diseases;

• (3)  Mining of natural active substances in medicinal plants.

3. Research Projects

• (1) Research on Insecticidal Active Components and Mechanism of Volatile Oils of Pseudostemonopsis and Pseudostemonotus vulgaris on Cotton Borer, National Natural Science Regional Fund, China.

• (2) Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology Agricultural Joint Surface Project Discovery of active lead compounds and mechanism of action of fig leaves against the grass-covetous noctuid moths.

• (3) Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology Agricultural Joint Surface Project Research on the Substance Basis and Action Mechanism of Anti-Rheumatic Activity of Cynanchum otophyllum Schneid, an Ethnomedicine of Yunnan Province.
